History: It began in the fall of 1967 as Valencia Junior College before changing its name four years later to Valencia Community College. They have four campuses and two centers in the Orlando area, and teach more than 50,000 students a year. Valencia's faculty and staff put their energies into a "learning-centered" philosophy that emphasizes individual student success as well as the accumulation of practical knowledge.
