 Anna Maria Island, Manatee County A bit of a drive from Orlando, but one of Florida's best kept beach secrets is Anna Maria Island, near Bradenton. Two hours via I-4 west to I-75 south, then west on SR 64 to the island.
Wide, pristine white beaches line the shore from Longboat Key to Tampa Bay. The town of Anna Maria is practically secluded on the north part of the island.
Anna Maria Island has four well-maintained public beaches — Bayfront Park, Manatee, Cortez and Coquina, located along the length of the Island.
