Rock Springs Run Rock Springs is part of the upper Wekiva River system. The put-in point is at King's Landing, off County Road 435, north of Apopka. Rock Springs has a modest current at most times. Most of the trip is through pine flats and hammocks. This is deer and black bear habitat. Keep quiet and you may be surprised at what you see. Most of this run is fairly open and clear of obstacles. Few technical skills are required. But that can change in a hurry. Heavy weather can fell trees across the stream, making for tricky navigation or a short portage. Rock Springs flows about seven miles before joining the Wekiva River just past the Wekiva State Park. From this confluence you go another mile to a take-out point at Wekiva Marina. Be prepared to pay put-in and take-out fees if you bring your own boat. Drop a car at Wekiva Marina before heading to King's Landing. Rentals and shuttle service can be arranged at King's Landing. We rank this our third best trip, but only if you go during the week. Weekends are too crowded. Visit the next canoe trail.
