Course Knowledge: In 2000, Golden Ocala decided that they were going to make improvements to what was already considered one of the finest golf courses in Central Florida. As a result, the course is currently closed but is scheduled to reopen in early 2002. Golf Digest ranked Golden Ocala among the Top75 golf courses in the US, and the most avid local golfers rank it in the top 10 in the entire state. Golden's signature is its eight replica holes from some of the most renowned courses in the world: there are replicas of the 8th at Royal Troon; the 9th from Muirfield; there's the Road Hole from St. Andrew's and even Augusta National's Amen Corner is recreated. This course can be challenging, especially from the back tees, but the landscaping and scenic beauty makes this golf experience enjoyable for everyone. |
