As legend tells, a freak snow storm dumped a bunch of snow on Disney property and Mickey and pals decided to build Florida's first ski resort. Just as they finished building the snow melted and so did any chance of skiing or sledding. However, when officials saw a Polar Bear sliding down Mount Gushmore and splashing into the water below, the idea of Blizzard Beach was born.
